SINGAPORE: Ten motorists were arrested for drink-driving in an islandwide operation early Friday morning.

Traffic Police said it conducted road blocks at various parts of Singapore in a pre-dawn operation.

Forty-six drivers were stopped and tested for alcohol consumption.

Ten of them, all men aged between 23 and 49, failed the test and were arrested for drink-driving.

The highest Breath Evidential Analyser (BEA) test result was 70 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

This was twice the prescribed legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. - CNA/ms
