I hope this is not a model for Singkies. Such a family has to settle for a lot of compromises. Who to be the scholar I.e. to go on to Polytechnic (no degree here, the family cannot wait)? Who to sacrifice for the family by discontinuing studies early to work and bring back the bacon. Some might have to remain single for life so that his contribution can be kept totally within the family.
