Despite the positive spin added by the mainstream media on Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean’s lecture during the recently held Pre-University seminar to a group of young students from junior colleges, polytechnics and centralized institutes, many were disappointed with his speech and the way he dodged their questions.
A report on the seminar by Channel News Asia gave the erroneous impression that the DPM Teo was ‘engaging’ well with the students:
“I’m quite cheered by that because it means that the students don’t have a blind optimism. They understand that there are challenges, but those challenges can be overcome and if we do put in that effort together, we can do that.”
However, one 17 year old participant of the seminar later wrote on his blog that the students were very unhappy with DPM Teo for using the usual PAP gimmick to ask the questioner to provide solutions when confronted with an intractable problem:
“The participants made it extremely clear they were dissatisfied with DPM Teo- and when we asked about our concerns which we do not know what can be done to solved, he will give the fucking ridiculous reply “What do you think (can be done)?”.

He was absolutely disgusted with the answer given by DMP Teo to ‘smoke’ them and hurled vulgarities at him:
“We seek your opinion. You gave us none. And when someone manned up and replied, “I am 17 years old, I don’t know what to do”, the crowd went berserk in applause. Fxxk you, sir.”
His views appeared to be shared by MediaCorp celebrity and Young PAP member Tay Ping Hui who tweeted two days ago:
“Was told if I was going to comment on something, I should provide solutions instead of just talking. My reply:” then what am I paying u 4?”"

These kids rightfully are asking the right questions about their future. When we were younger, we were taught that hardwork and diligence will put us on a good path in life. These kids now know that jobs are going to be difficult as they compete with more experienced and cheaper FTs. WHen they look at housing prices and the salary these days for low and middle income they have a right to complain to those that created this huge fiasco.

Thanks to the PAP policies Singapore has gone from a successful location for sea trade to a location where its own citizens have to slog it out for very much all their lives.

In the private sector his type of standard is in mid-management at a local SME. The most he can draw each month is $4,000 and he will actually be one of the first to be retrenced. He brings shame upon anyone that hires him. If he cannot provide satisfactory answers to 17 year old kids then he will do worse when dealing with adults. Like this kind of standard can become DPM? The PAPzis must be desperate.

As an ex-PAPIBCHIEF, I must say that the PAP is really miscalculating their ability to brainwash people. The young does not buy Propaganda shit. What they believe is what they HEAR, SEE, AND ACTIONS of the PAP.

The PAP has ABUSED its DOMINANCE all these years. If you are dominant, you have even a GREATER responsibility to ensure FAIRPLAY. This elements of Fairplay will then be instutionalised for the greater benefit of Sinkapore. However, PAP has not only pay lip service to fairplay but also abused its dominance by exerting strict controls over MSM, promoting its own elites in the supposed independent Civil Service and also ensure that its clan control the essential pillars thereby corrupting itself to a point of no return..

Good that nowadays 17 year olds SG youths are so intelligent to see through the propaganda and question PAP for it. Hope they will grow up to increase the 40%.

With so many foreigners and wages being depressed really make it meaningless for these youths to study anymore. What is the point for these SG youths to study with tution, remedial etc and fight so much competition to get a place in SG university when some Pinoy, Indian, PRC or other nationalities can just walk in with their unknown and unverifiable degrees?
