What happens when S'pore becomes overcrowded with 6 million people? The demand for housing shoots up, driving up rents and home prices. Basic necessities like food, water and energy become more expensive owing to increased demand and greater scarcity. Don't forget that healthcare, education and transportation systems become strained, leading to higher costs for these services. More people will want to own cars, but our govt will want to control the supply, so prices will skyrocket.
