Rightfully, it is only appropriate that tables should segregated for Halal and non-Halal food.

This is why a food court selling Halal food in Malaysia, cannot sell non-Halal food. The locals explained to me that even dishwasher staff cannot handle plates from both Halal and non-Halal stalls.

Stupid PAP technocrats splitting hairs.

Please cut to the chase and have 'strictly Muslim' segregated enclaves already. Oh, and don't forget the 'Tidak Halal' corners at the supermarkets, very convenient for those who want to buy beer and luncheon meat for their groceries. :roflmao:

First they must put up a notice to diners what is halal as most don't know the the difference between halal and haram. Most non Muslims don't know the difference.

Here's an idea: set up a 'This is a Muslim-free haram' hawker centre. No more ambiguity, even those Grabfood abangs will avoid buying from the place.

I think it’s correct that there are separate return stations. In university, I had a Jewish friend with whom I lived at that time. He was a really cool guy who taught me a lot of great tips and also shared paperfellows.com with me. I never used his dishes and respected his traditions. It’s really great because we still communicate now.

By and large, our local born Chinese respects our local Muslim community but with the influx of Chinese from Malaysia and China, these new citizens are more insensitive, eg. in tray return.

I witnessed muslim lady enquired about a cashier job at a Teppanyaki stall at Nex Foodcourt. The Malaysian chef pointed his finger and rotated around his face circumference, to hint to the applicant that she could not put on Hijab. In the end, the local supervisor (not the chef) still hired the lady.

This is a demeaning gesture that Malaysian Chinese used to humiliate Muslim women. If you are raised in Singapore, you wun do such things.
