i'm interested to know as well

Hi lastresort, looks like you are ready to do postgraduate

Good thought processes. Maybe you can make some money as an investment analyst/banker.

My take is Temasek needs to invest in Medini. That Najib came along and executed the deal only catalyses it (as signing was long ago). Capitaland and Keppel Land have seen the success of Taman Sutera and would have been test cases for Temasek years ago and confirms their vision. Vision of many retirees retiring in JB. There is a need for housing for Singapore senior citizens with good quality of life and Nusajaya presents just that. Thus Wellness Village is a natural concept for Temasek to start in Nusajaya. Singapore will become a hub for multi-cultural-high-income-generating-young-workforce. That is why property prices in Singapore have started to climb to a upper long term new base and why Iskandar esp Nusajaya (a greenfield site) will follow suit. We all betting on that with investments both sides. The logic is inescapable.

=) Hi Investor Bro, you're definitely a young investor and already have at least 3 landed properties (I can assume from your earlier post)! I believe you're happily married and have at least a property in Singapore. I'm so impressed by what you have achieved (sorry I have exposed you a little).

Even my part time ex colleagues who are around 34 are still queuing for BTO government flats. They are average Singaporeans, so I guess our generation and future generations of Singaporeans are not doing so well.

Hi HH Lover,

Thanks, no issues, please use it my learned friend.
Yes, folks have been telling me about it so now its indeed coming true.

it's going to be big. As long as HH continue to build can already. It's gonna be scary this time.

Haha just found out that our friend Lemans2011 also started his blog 'Across the Straits' just 10 days ago.
Can I have your permission to share the link here?

Haha that is just testing... seems to get a lot of error messages... might try Wordpress which a learned friend recommend to me (sorry Wuqi this phrase is so nice to use) but have not got chance to try that yet... its really a nice way to keep your life diary

LOL... I started mine about 3 weeks ago... other than keeping my own diary, it will help me to accumulate many of the resources/contacts I have learnt from you all. Also, allows me to build my investment lens on Nusajaya... also agreed on the phrase "learned friend", my learned friend.

Did a lot of research on pfingo, skype, pennytel

As u rightly mentioned pfingo n pennytel r good n a whole load cheaper than skype as well

For those who wants a Singapore number while overseas, this is the best I can recommend.

However, if you are looking for a more comprehensive VoIP provider, try pennytel.com.
They can provide you with a number in Australia, and Malaysia.

Calling Malaysia, China, USA, etc is as low as A$0.08/call (depending on your plan).
I was one of their pioneer users and having the above service with no monthly fee.
As I make alot of calls to China... it saves me a whole load.

agreed not cheap.

There is one more s unno previously mediaring.

Really cheap.

Any downsides..?

bro, I understand.

Just that pfingo is useful mainly to users who wants a Singapore number, for those who wants to call overseas, pfingo is not cheap (unless pfingo to pfingo), thats why I was recommending pennytel for this group of people.

This is pretty good.

1) so i got my starhub no level 3

2) got the monthly sub at $2 per month

3) got the pfingo client installed on my Ipad2 n my galaxy tablet with wifi n 3g

4) so i dun need the voip dect phone right?

5) one prob i face with pfingo is tht it does not push the call to u unlike skype.

6) the software for pfingo is also not user friendly pretty rudimentary. Skype software better in tht sense.

7) yahoo also not tht bad the software. Can voice n video juz like skype. But skype better than yahoo

8) whts the min speed requirement?

a) 2g or is 3g upwards a must?

One good thing abt voip DID is that it behaves as if ur in spore no matter where u r. So technically u wont lose ur calls as long as u hv data connectivity. Even MCAs are now available.

7)

for those with internet at home (in Malaysia), I suggest the following:
1. get yourself a Basic account at pfingo.com which gives you a Singapore number (this is about $2/mth)
2. buy a Siemens VoIP DECT phone (a cheap one is less than $200 now) and install in Malaysia
3. register the pfingo account to your DECT phone
4. Forward your mobile number to the pfingo number (charged at your local Singapore calling rate)

When people call your Singapore number, your DECT phone will ring. (this basically works anywhere in the world)
*note, you will have to pay for your data charges in Malaysia, unless it is unlimited.
DECT coverage is pretty good usually, so big house also no issue (unless 3 story kind of building).
No worry about booster amplifying the signal power (which I dun like too)

7)

pFingo app on iPhone / iPad does not work in the background (multi-tasking), i.e. if your screen is not showing pFingo, you are actually "logged out", so you will not receive incoming calls.

Is it the same for Andriod on Galaxy Tablet?

WOW. . . JUST saw this today?

Who u referring to ah bro?

Message to Mr Grifter, these folks are coming to MY not because they are damn bloody rich but some of them have personal issues in SG and need a place to just rest their tired and weary feet.

As some of the bros(and a sister) has rightly pointed out, most of us are not superstars, we can only afford public projects/flats in SG and we are just dwarfs in the entire scheme of things.

Please, i humbly implore you, (you know who you are) pick your mark from elsewhere, please.

Hi Xiaoyjia, welcome to the forum! and thanks Investor.

We went there last Wednesday morning, reached the sales office late at 9 am, the ballot was done at 8 am for those units that have more contenders. Then there was drama and unhappiness for those who could not get their unit, the management had a close door meeting and decided to reopen one of the units at 11.30 am and from my understanding, whoever's cheque that could be banked in successfully would get the unit.

From what i heard last weekend, those units above 3rd floor facing golf are sold out (except for a few bumi units or those below 500K). From my own estimation, South Tower should be close to 40% sold by now. But those that could not get the units they want would either continue to wait to see if there is any that will become available due to loan rejection, last min cancellation or just get the units left that do not have golf view.

Hi lastresort,
What's the price range in terms of 'per sq ft' for this condo inside HH?
What about the one with roughly the same name Horizon xxxxxxx at Bukit Indah?
'Per sq ft' price for the condo at Puteri Harbour ranges from RM5xx psf to RM800 psf.

Visited Mydin today... looks pretty much like Giant. I guess it is good that EL residents have a supermarket at their doorstep now. At the same time i am hoping these unwanted crowd will stop coming here to jam up the place when the freebies are no longer available. The crowd that Mydin has drawn in the last 2 days are not the right type of crowd, i'm afraid. They should just open a Jasons here. I saw one Indian man with 4 cans of free drinks in his 2 hands.

Just back from JB.. Decided to stay over for house cleaning

Scheduled delivery of bed, electrical stuff & some furniture on 30/7.. so went in & clean up..
One of the best feeling is after a tired day of cleaning, there is a hot shower & nice comfy bed with air con..

Not exactly superstitious, but avoided the start of 7 month in chinese calender..

Yes they do along with other stuff like cupping, steaming of the foot etc.
These can be added on.

Agreed, went there yesterday with the family, took some pictures and went inside. Had our lunch at the foodcourt just outside, food was ok. The nasi padang and ayam penyet was ok. Didn't see the middle east and thai food stall until later but going to try when we are passing by there one of these days. Now EL/LH area at least have easy access to groceries. Well done.
