Gamblers Beware

Singaporeans losing their businesses, families, girl friends, happiness, etc because of overseas casinos or gambling is sad. such things cant be avoided because they took the trouble to do what they did.

but it is more painful when we facilitated their fall with our own casinos

Own casinos? This fundamentally flawed...
The casinos are operated by privately listed companies...i do not hold any of their share...do u?
I already said that casinos on cruise ships with easy access have been at our doorstep for more than 20years already....
If u live in cosmopolitan city, you have to accept the whole package.....
why don't u crsusade against all licensed brothels, nightclubs, HFJ; etc....because there are pple who goes into debt because of such indulgence...

OMG...i forgot my medicine this morning...i am loosing my mind.
I am getting too serious......

relaxxx...dun get all worked up!!!

I agree...brothels, overseas casinos, cruise ships casinos etc..are all bad...

does it mean that we have brothels, etc, which are bad...then no harm adding on IR casinos?

according to your reasoning, then why not legalise other bad things eg drugs, etc?

I went pubbing with a couple of pals last night. One of them mentioned he has visited both casinos. I was a little surprised and asked him why he didn't mind paying the S$100 levy. He replied he was prepared to gamble about S$1,000, so it's OK, and it'd cost him more time and money to go to Genting Highland anyway. Then I think of GoldenDragon and asked him why don't he sign up for the S$2,000 annual membership. He said he doesn't intend to go everyday, just once in a while. If he pays for the membership, he'll probably end up there everyday. If there's no levy, he and many will probably end up there everyday too. So the levy has worked. Do you agree?

levy deters some..doesnt deter others. so levy works for some, doesnt work for others

the point is.... is gambling good or not?

are IR casinos justified just because singaporeans can go to cruise ships or genting? i think those who say that there are already overseas and cruise ship casinos and so having a casino in SG misses the main point. a casino at marina bay or sentosa has totally different effect as genting casino

Singapore has legal brothels and cruise ship casinos for a long long time. It's adding land casinos to them, not adding them to land casinos.

SG has legal brothels? cruise ship casinos can gamble in SG waters?

Yes, I agree that MBS and RWS are in addition to the many vices already in SG...some not legal but tolerated

Yes, different strokes for different folks.

I don't gamble. Ask GoldenDragon or Silverfox. :D

It's different of course. All locales and settings, distances and circumstances are different. For example, I've been to Biloxi, Mississippi. Casinos on land are outlawed. They bought some ships and docked them permanently at the jetties. That's not on land and casinos are allowed. Docked permenantly, i.e. they don't even bother to sail out in the name of a cruise. Want to gamble, come and gamble, don't pretend to cruise to nowhere and waste fuel. It was a beautifully setup though through the row of seaside. It added to the scenery and tourist attraction. Many went there to gamble. Many went there for sightseeing and relaxing only. :)

Yes..

Being able to gamble at MBS or RWS is very different from being able to gamble on crusie ships and genting highlands

Gambling is good if you win money.

Do bet on Noble the Best tonight at Happy Valley !!:)

Cruise ship casino opens at international waters and play in US$. Check out my other posting about docked ship casinos in Mississippi state, USA where the laws are different.

Yes, Singapore has legal brothels. I'm surprised you don't know. There're four locations. Geylang (the biggest stretch), Keong Saik, Desker and Petain.
