Don't give her so much attention lah. It's all grossly overhyped and not worth it. Although she does have the credentials plus looks as a bonus to be a MP but that's about it.

From my close observation on her on the way she speaks and mannerisms, she is more of a reserved type of lady lacking the charisma of a political leader. Although she exudes an elegant poise that captivates but yet she subtly distances like a 冰山美人. She appears to have an overly disciplined self-control that can feel like a shield against the male audience, guarding her image with a careful reserve during engagement with residents at meet-ups and walkabouts. While this restraint underscores her professionalism, it may also hinder her relatability, as she appears less approachable and not sufficiently easy-going to connect deeply with residents.

During rallies, her performance is mediocre at best, keep reading from script and unable to engage the audience to rouse up ground sentiments like Nicole Seah for e.g. or even WP's new candidate Eileen Chong which is important for a political candidate. Her focus on policy and grassroots work, though commendable, could benefit from a warmer, more open engagement to truly resonate with the heartland.

Whereas the real star catch is Eileen Chong Pei Shan 蒋佩姗 (Tampines GRC Candidate) . She has even better credential IMO and shines as a magnetic force in GE 2025. She is formerly from MFA and is also a Gov scholar and graduated from China's top Peking Uni. She holds an M.A. in Global Affairs and Policy from Yonsei University, South Korea (2017), and a B.A. in International Politics from Peking University, China (2015).

At rallies, she masterfully captivates crowds and shines as a MC for WP's first rally. While her beauty may not be the most striking, her charm radiates through a sweet, effervescent, unpretentious and genuine ease, her smile a dawn’s first light that warms every heart. With high emotional intelligence, eloquent speech, and keen observation—particularly in fluent Mandarin—she effortlessly endears herself to voters across generations with lots of voters young and old. She is like the wife or gf you would be like most proud to bring to meet your parents who would sing praises on her and lighten up your day.

Therefore, I would take Eileen Chong anytime over Alexis. You all can go and simp for Alexis all you want but for me is still Eileen. Funny thing is, I don't even need to simp for her as she simply makes me comfortable like my sister, LOL.

A queue formed at One Punggol Hawker Centre as residents waited to meet WP newcomers Alexis Dang and Jackson Au.

“We’re so happy you’re here,” a resident told Ms Dang. “We’re so happy to be here,” she replied, thanking him for his support.

Ms Dang and Mr Au were seen speaking to families and taking photos with residents.

“Can we have a picture with you?” asked a seven-year-old girl. Ms Dang gladly agreed.

The girl’s mother, Ms Yap, in her 30s, said she has been “hoping for a strong opposition in Punggol for quite some time now”. Her family has lived in the area for 10 years.

A resident offered cold drinks to the WP candidates. “All the best and take care of yourselves,” he told them.

It's a tossed up GRC with many young swing voters.

I shall hold my breath until the last vote is counted. It can go either way.

People who will vote PAP or WP already decided even without the need for campaigning and rally by either side.

The swing voters make the difference. Demographics matters. It's a young GRC unlike Marine Parade or Jalan Besar GRCs.

How many voters can Alexis swing away from Sun Xue Ling's Punggol West SMC which has been redrawn into this new Punggol GRC.

SXL won by a very comfortable 60% above margin last GE2020 over a WP candidate. So it's critical for Alexis and team to get a good bunch of young swing voters to her side.

Fingers crossed. It will be very challenging for WP in Punggol. Even as I simp and ship for Alexis and her team, I also know it's an uphill battle, against a PAP team that has plenty of resources with ability to threaten Singaporeans day in day out...

I pray for WP teams going for the jugular. May God be with them.

The 4G leadership is merely competent, but devoid of a compelling narrative. In other words, the team is perceived as mediocre i.e. efficient administrators, BUT not inspiring leaders. PM LW is a leader without any magnetism; he falls far below the public's expectations - especially when he is drawing $2.2 million per year of taxpayers' money. His continued reliance on mediocre candidates from the civil service reinforces the perception of "functionaries" who specialise in groupthink. It really seems like the same old, same old. Every new PAP candidate feels like a diluted version of the old guard.
