SDP should stop deifying Dr Chee

SDP is too egocentric on one personality - Dr Chee.

Every rally the MCs will shout "Dr Chee! Dr Chee! Dr Chee!". Come on, even PAP rallies, all the plps didn't go shouting "Lee Kuan Yew! Lee Kuan Yew!"

SDP is turning the entire party into a cult of personality.

I know you have every right to idolize him like Taylor Swift or Black Pink. But this is where SDP fails as a party.

Why hasn't Dr Chee done anything to stop this idol chanting? It inflates his ego like a cult leader, and if it doesn't stop, I can only conclude Dr Chee himself loves to be idolized by his party members.

If SDP wins, Dr Chee will be catapulted to high heavens. If he fails again, his ego is kept intact because he has the 同問層 to console him that he is still their indisputable and indomitable cult leader.

The male MC seems to mistake SDP rally for Dr Chee's personal concert. The female Ah Soh MC leh? SDP cannot find a better MC meh?

It's about time Dr Chee descended from the SDP altar. If SDP is synonymous with Dr Chee, then this party has no future.

And if you really want to relate to your constituents, the uncles and aunties especially, please consider dropping that prefix of Dr.

I'm pretty sick of all the virtue signalling. Are you preaching to the audience about your moral attributes? This may consolidate the support of your believers, but to the middle ground voters they wonder what SDP is up to.

Sorry, I must admit I'm feeling 恨鐵不成鋼, but maybe it's not a good idea to surround yourself with your staunch believers.

Singaporeans love to support successful people. And being successful in Singapore means you hold a high position, earn a big salary and live in a hiso property.

This idea of full time MP is not a selling point at all.

Do you want your MP to be a full time MP or a part time MP earning a full time salary as a minister or head honcho in a MNC?

You are a restauranteur, aren't you? You should keep that identity as it adds value to your status. And in Singapore context, good status will make you electable.

Selling yourself as a full time MP devalues your current job, and creates the impression that you are seeking alternative employment opportunities.

Without Dr Chee, nobody will vote for SDP. SDP rallies, anyone noticed one of the MCs wearing sandals. Every election, SDP rally stages give me the feeling of gala dinner or some kind government event.

If PT won and Dr Chee lost, will Dr Chee hand over the secretary general role to PT?
