S'pore will form taskforce to help businesses and workers cope with new economic environment​

The taskforce will help businesses and workers better adapt to the new economic environment.

This was announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Apr. 8 in Parliament.

The taskforce, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, who is also Minister for Trade and Industry, will help businesses and workers address the immediate uncertainties, strengthen their resilience, and better adapt to the new economic environment.

Gan said that one key focus of the taskforce is going to be in terms of communication and information sharing.

The taskforce will gather information from the ground, understand the challenges faced by the enterprises on the ground, and discuss how the government can support them through these uncharted waters.

I think is a farking good idea. Even if cut by 90% with their 13th mth + 7 mths bonus, their total yearly package can easily hit $2M, which means they still take back $200K + MP allowance of $16K/mth some more which is still higher than many other country's leaders, including XJP NBCB, LOL.

USA tariff SG 10% & we decided not to retaliate, full stop, end of story ... Minister of Trade will follow up.

There are already form of communication between agencies, so setting up this Taskforce is nothing but wayang show for Election to milk the situation.

There is nothing else Govt can do except continue trade with other Countries, stay away from USA at the moment.
