Why are ppl so bullshit?! Aiyo…
There are many Sinkies with inflated titles. I met CEOs, COOs and Managing Directors etc. who live in HDB flats and do not even own a car.Sinkies do this all the time... downgrade from landed to condo/condo to hdb and use the money for needs. No need to give bs reason. Who cares....
HDB + no car is not indication of inflated titles. Plenty of big earners in Sg like that. There are many Sinkies with inflated titles. I met CEOs, COOs and Managing Directors etc. who live in HDB flats and do not even own a car.
In status conscious SG, I find it impossible to believe that any high earners would forego a private home and luxury car to live in a HDB flat and take public transport. The high SES wouldn't be seen dead riding on the MRT or public bus.HDB + no car is not indication of inflated titles. Plenty of big earners in Sg like that. It's the number of subordinates.... A COO with 2 staff, etc
Real millionaires are people who dress poorly and own very little. My multimillionaires indonesian boss is one of them, he always came to office with slippers, normal looking T-Shirt and short khakis. He doesn't drive, sometime taking cab or taking MRT. As for sinkies, don't be fooled by those acting like prince or princess and carrying branded stuffs, once recession hit them and became jobless, they start KPKB for not being treated like kings or Queens in restaurant. There are many Sinkies with inflated titles. Less than 11% of people in S'pore own a car, so there are 89% who don't earn enough to be a car owner.Follow people who exit Downtown station to their offices... you'll see
Anyone who is able to fork out more than $100K for a piece of paper to buy a car in SG is rich. That's the real test if someone is wealthy - not branded goods, which may be counterfeit merchandise.Real millionaires are people who dress poorly and own very little. Life is short, so S'poreans who are able to afford a house or condo won't settle for a HDB flat leased from the Govt. The wealthy also treasure the comfort and convenience of a car. Why would someone who has the budget not want to enjoy these luxuries during our brief time on earth? It’s not only about status Real Rich people value their time convenience and qualify of life and privacy. Hdb mrt or public transport cannot offer
Many are enjoying above-and-beyond high mortgage rate as well… many are eating maggi noodles quietly at canteen corner diam diamLife is short, so S'poreans who are able to afford a house or condo won't settle for a HDB flat leased from the Govt. I have a colleague who drives a BMW 3-series, but stays in an old 4-room HDB unit. At the time he purchased his car, it cost him more than his flat. Many are enjoying above-and-beyond high mortgage rate as well… many are eating maggi noodles quietly at canteen corner diam diam
