Billionaire Fox Shareholder Calls on Donald Trump to Withdraw From Presidential Race
Saudi Prince Alwaleed — the 34th richest man in the world — calls Trump a "moron disgrace."
When billionaires collide.
Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the 34th richest man in the world according to Forbes with an estimated wealth of $24.8 billion,
has lashed out at Donald Trump following the GOP candidate's call for a "complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the U.S.
"You are a moron and a disgrace not only to the GOP but to all America.
Withdraw from the U.S presidential race as you will never win,” the Saudi tweeted on Friday.
Alwaleed, considered the richest man in the Middle East and a nephew of the late King Abdullah, is a major investor in both 21st Century Fox,
in which his company Kingdom Holdings is the second-largest voting shareholder with a 6.6 percent stake, and Twitter, in which it is said to hold
more than 3 percent. Earlier this year, the investment vehicle sold a stake in News Corp. valued at $190 million and reduced its holding to around 1 percent.
Naturally, the Donald didn't sit still. He tweeted back that Alwaleed was "dopey," adding that the prince "wants to control our U.S. politicians with daddy’s money.
Can’t do it when I get elected."
The social media spat came just a day after posters of Trump and related branding were removed from property developments in Dubai and Trump Home
products were pulled from the shelves of one of the Middle East's biggest home decor chains.
