Not true. PAP has done nothing special for the economy in the last decade except bringing in people to create growth and signing FTA with India etc with no obvious benefits to Singaporeans. Yes public housing should be for people to have a roof over their heads. Instead public housing has deviated to now been become asset to be monetized. On the other hand, private properties are bought without a cent of subsidy and the owners should be entitled to collect rent from them. Other than govt who has access to cheap or free land and fortunate people with inherited properties, most people do have to work hard to pay off mortgages before they can be in the position to collect rent.
