MINDEF threatens to sue Dr Ting for haressment

Dr Ting Choon Meng, the inventor who had his patent for a medical vehicle revoked by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), is now being threatened with legal action for harassment.

Dr Ting received a lawyers’ letter from the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) which threatened to use the new Protection from Harassment Act against Dr Ting.

The letter said that Dr Ting would have to say that his statements were false or he could be taken to court for harassing MINDEF.

Dr Ting was involved in a long-drawn and uphill
lawsuit with MINDEF over a patent issue, but decided to withdraw his case due to
mounting legal costs and a battle for which he saw no end in sight.
