Last Sunday after my predawn run at the Botanical Gardens, my khakis and I ended up in a coffee shop for breakfast near Lloyd/Killiney Roads.

To our surprise we witnessed a huge police bus brought a busload of Gurkha guards to replace those who were on duty.

We couldn't count the numbers, but it took about 25 mins for them to disembark and embark behind the closed gate at Lloyd Road.

It reminds me of the daily changing of guards at Buckingham Palace.

The difference here is at Buckingham Palace the daily changing of guards is carried out in a splendor of a royal ceremony for the public to witness unlike here it's carried out in a hush behind closed gate.
