All the ISD detainees were out to destroy the country. They deserved what they got. They should consider themselves lucky that LKY is a kind and fair man and not some despot dictator or they would have simply disappeared without a trace.

There is evidence that the Prime Minister (Lee Kuan Yew) himself did not believe that those arrested were part of any Marxist conspiracy.
