MRavi representing the family has indicated that they will only be prepared to settle for sums which are REPORTED AS BEING OUT OF THIS WORLD.
How much of Tax Payer money does MRavi intend to milk the taxpayer for Dinesh Raman's fmaily by pretending that Dinesh Raman was not violent? Fact is, it was his own mother who took out a personal protection order on him. It was because of her complaints that he was violent to her that he ended up in remand again.
How OUT OF THIS WORLD is the sum to settle? Can the government or MRavi reveal the sum? This is not government money or the police money. It is taxpayer money. So before we give out millions to secret society gangsters, let the public judge if the amount is excessive.
[The allegation that fair compensation is owing to Dinesh’s family as a result of his death]
The Government has already accepted liability for negligence in Dinesh’s death, and has made an offer of compensation. The offer assumes that Dinesh would have gone on to ITE, and have had a stable job – assumptions which are generous in light of the actual circumstances.
Dinesh was a secret society member, who did not have any stable job before his incarceration. He had previously committed rioting and theft, and was even the subject of a Personal Protection Order filed by his own mother, which he breached by threatening to hurt her when she refused to give him money. His own mother was compelled to call in the police to help her.
Despite the generosity of the Government’s offer, the family has indicated that they will only be prepared to settle for sums which are reported as being out of this world. In the meantime, they have also sought to place pressure on the Government, by filing various specious claims in court that contain a litany of false allegations.
