SAF can quickly deploy to target the haze

time for sinkees to form own citizen militant units. if useless garberment and saf cannot do anything, then let the citizen militants take over.

Yes. Start with indo embassy.
Then their indo businesses here.
Next the Indos here....lynch and loot them all.

We have C-130s and Fokker-50s and new AWACs aircraft that can easily be retrofited to carry water tanks. Indonesian air force is second rate at best. Just fly the planes there, water bomb the source of the haze and fly back. If Indo Air Force intervenes, use fighter escort. The Israelis took out the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981 at a far greater risk and only received a small UN condemnation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Opera

Why can't the SAF try the same?

Because the Indons will invade us. They have many millions that can easily swamp us. Can we kill all those millions?

right please tell that to the farmers. Burn more and let you suffer

Expend your energy to plan a coup ...you have better chance than to fight the Indons.

After the PAP government is gone, then the new government can forge closer ties with Indons to deal with the haze problem. We need to scratch their backs before they scratch ours. And the help given to the Indons in the tsunami is just an ordinary act of neighbourliness, nothing to shout about.

Maybe DBS should call off the deal to have a stake in Indon bank. But would Temaksick agree?

Haze is not here to stay, don't be so paranoid.

No one will remember all the gungho bullshit when the wind blows the haze away.

So true. That's why the PAP doesn't do anything after the few months of haze is over. Then next year, the wayang starts all over again.

If the PAP really cared about this issue, they would have worked with the Indons to address it years ago. They didn't or didn't want to spend a cent, expecting the Indons to spend the money while sinkapore just sit back and bark.

Does the PAP government really care about this issue? What have they done since the haze problem years ago?

They better start cracking their heads on how to deal with such haze coming years. Dont juz tink of economic gains only.

The government can do alot to help sinkees cope with the haze. They just don't want to.

Pap never do lugi business or anything for free.
Sinkies are just digits....the more drop dead the more FT pets they can import.

They helped during the 2004 Tsunami

your neighbour house kenna washed away by flood water. if u dont help him to rebuild his house, he will send part of his family to squatter at your properties. it cheaper to help him and get goodwill to help him then than to kenna scold black heart by others in the neighbourhood and still cannot get them off your own properties.

and pls lah, dont everything want to activiate saf. i for once dont agree to that, why should singaporean men be the one risking our lives while the miws and ftrash sit here in aircon to enjoy the fruit of servicemen labour. i say fark it, everyone suffer together. let pap govt find the solution themselves since they claimed to be lumber 1.:oIo:

How can SAF be able to deploy troops without being noticed? You think SAF troops can even reach Indon soil?

For once I agree with steffychun. It is a rare occurrence but I certainly concur with him.

I don't agree that we should bomb Indonesia. I am advocating a quick occupation of the haze-affected area, i.e. Riau province in Sumatra. Just go in, occupy the place, cordon it off and hold it while RSAF and SCDF work together to put out the fires. The SAF troops guarding the area should also keep watch for any individuals who are setting fire to the land. These individuals should be arrested and court-martialed. They should also be interrogated (using 'enhanced techniques' if needed) in order to discover who gave the order to set fire to the plantations. Then these responsible parties should be hunted down and brought to justice.

Once the fires are extinguished, we should immediately exfiltrate our forces and withdraw. The whole thing will be a snap operation. No one will die, as there will be no actual combat.

I never advocated occupation. I just said using of airforce to water bomb, fighter escort if need be. If you want to play to guai route, then send letter to Indon notifying of overflight before proceeding.

Air Force is most regulars. There for no need mobilisation of NSmen. That can happen later is Indon try to attack--if they dare attack when USS toyboat is in town.

You can't water bomb peat fires you twit. They burn beneath the sub soil. Do some research before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

last i checked I am no twit.

Well check again because you certainly are one now and so are the idiots who suggest occupying the area. They don't have the slightest clue regarding the scale of the problem. You could transport the whole 5.3 million sinkie inhabitants over to Sumatra and they'd all be lost in the forests in no time at all.

The Island has an area 473,481 km². It's the SIXTH LARGEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD.
