Can't comment on these scholar generals. Never worked with them before. But having witnessed LHL, GY, TCH, LTY, TCJ and CCS in action, must confess they don't appear impressive at all.

Having worked in the SPF, for every 7-8 President scholars/OMSes, one will shine.

SAF has always done very well in foreign defence course and it is no surprise. Nobody in his right mind with good academic results would join the army in any country. The entire SAF scholarship scheme was built around old man's eldest son.
