Typical Singapore...all he cares is himself and what he can get out from this BE.

To the Candidates running for Punggol East SMC,

My name is Ricky Goh, I am one of the voters of the SMC that you are currently running for. I have been staying in the area for more than 15 years when the estate was still in a mess as it was new. The traffic out of the town then was terrible as there was only one road (Punggol Road) in and out of the estate. There were little amenities like childcares, coffeeshops, supermarkets, community areas were almost non-existence (like Community Centre, Shopping Mall, Parks, etc).

Over the recent years, there were improvements as now we have MRTs, LRTs, better bus services and 3 main roads out of the estate, Punggol Road, SengKang East Way and SengKang East Ave. With the nearby estate being built (like Compassvale, Anchorvale and Fernvale), the town has improved significantly. All these are part and parcel of a growing estate, so no matter if PAP or opposition wins the SMC, the town will still grow in order to sustain the people and businesses in the estate. Let me state that I am not afraid to vote for Opposition in this BE. This is a BE not GE, PAP is already the government even if they lose the BE. National issues are important but for BE, it is the welfare of the residents that is critical. We are concerned about the AIM saga but that is at the national level, as resident of the estate, we are more concerned about what can you as a candidate do for us?

All the candidates claimed to have heard the voices of the residents of the SMC but do they really know what the residents want? More elderly care? More childcare centres? More coffeeshop? More wet markets? All candidates say they want to do these but what is basis for all these concerns?

If they had listened carefully and understood the voice of the people, they should have realized that what we want is a lower cost of living. Singapore is too expensive. My request is simple. I just want to LOWER MY LIVING COST! I want to be able to have a meal for $3.00 which is why I want no frill hawker or coffeeshop. I want more childcare so that it will lower my children’s fee. I want wet market so that my home cooked food will be cheaper.

My vote will go to the one that can promise and able to deliver all these. Who can promise me that they can build coffeeshop/hawker in my estate? Who can promise me reasonable and good quality childcare centres like “My First Skool”? Who can promise me a wet market? The rest of the country can say that I’m selfish but end of the day, my concern is my family and the quality of life I can provide for them.
.

He is not selfish. He is a fucking idiot because he will vote for anyone based on promises. Snake oil peddlers please look for Ricky Goh.

Looks like this guy has never had a broken promise made to him, the way that some people never watch porn.

He is correct. What they really lack is no frills coffee shop n hawker centre.
anyone who can offer that should get the vote. WP promised nothing and the residenst of PE will get nothing if they vote for WP, its thats simple

You opening your PAP cheebye mouth also nothing what....Fuck your mother cheebye!

So the party that can promise him all that would be PAP?

Must ask kinana.

Any party can promise him that. WP did not.

I promised to pay your prostitute mother extra $10 if she will lick the cling ons off my asshole. She did and demanded payment. I did not....LOL

Wayang party will promise the world during elections. Whatever happen to first world part and co-driver? It was a very simple promise. They could not even fulfill something tath basic.

Actually, living in some estate can be cheaper on your pocket than others. If you compare SengKang and Toa Payoh, the former is more expensive as TPY has lots more nice and cheap food. The kopitiam beside compasspoint is so expensive that it is a ghost town.

This guy is not wrong that all the things that the residents are asking for is ultimately to lower their living cost. But I doubt PAP will do much.

True. The wet market I frequent, nasi lemak with otah + egg + fishcake is $2. The fishball noodles is also $2 for the small portion.

Kopitiam is fuck up. you are paying for the aircon and renovations. most of the stalls are chain stalls that get their stuff from factories. some of the stalls are open by kopitiam themselves. hire some prc, order the meat and veg from supplier, add lots of ajinomoto, then charge you $6.50 per bowl.

no different than cooking maggie mee at home and opening a can of ma ling luncheon meat.

Do u really want Singapore to go back to the 50s where one bowl of noodles is just 30cents ( where the whole world is getting expensive ) ? I said increase your pay check not decrease the price of living standard .

Our goverment can start the ball rolling by reducing their pay package and start serving the people instead of their pocket.

The one in sengkang not air-con but everything is expensive. If I recall correctly, one bowl of fish soup was $10 plus.

Yes sorry typo . But i think we should never decrease the cost of living standard when the whole world is getting expensive .. Imagine if like that then Singaporean travel overseas will think everything so expensive and cannot enjoy your trip . I still prefer to increase your salary so that u can enjoy more overseas .
