I wasn't home when they tried to deliver some packages, so today I tried to arrange a re-delivery.

After trying various tel. numbers I finally called their HQ & got through to a life person who told me that SERVICE has been discontinued:eek:

Many know that Singpost sucks & now I am finding out that it is getting even worse:mad:
So better make sure there is always someone at home to receive your mails or you'll have to visit the post office.

There goes the theory that privatization will improve the quality of service.

Have you bought any SingPost shares?

Tell me about it, the singpost delivery at my estate is sub con to an auntie.

I might be wrong but now adays, registered mail goes into the mailbox, don't have to sign one.

The auntie messed up one of my registered mail and my kind neighbour left it on top of the letter box, and i happen to see it. KNN, would have lost that item if i didnt see it.

Privatise for better service my Kar Cheng! :oIo:

I've sent Singpost a request for clarification on their feedback page, just in case there was a mistake made by the person I was talking to.

I remember the good old days when mail was delivered twice a day:eek: In the morning & afternoon. In those days the postman didn't have scooters they used bicycles:smile:

With all the things going wrong in Spore the troubles with Singpost is a small matter, but it reminds us how screwed up Spore has become under the new leadership:(

I once sent a registered mail to the US. Fortunately I was closely monitoring it & when the US side did not receive it, I knew there was a problem. Singpost knew about the problem but did not bother to notify me that the registered mail was lost.

Fortunately there are better ways nowadays to send mail e.g. DHL, Fedex, UPS

Can't you just pick it up at the local postoffice?

I can of course go & pick it up from the post office but it's not so convenient because I don't drive & the branch is not easy to get to because it's outside the HDB area.

It's actually 3 packages from iHerb. I often order things from iHerb & if I have to DIY from the post office it would be a problem:(

If you think Singpost is bad, wait till you experience Canada Post! I have had their postmen left "failed to deliver" cards in my mailbox. When I read them, they said they came at a certain time, but knocked and found nobody answering. Which is damn lie because I was the whole time in the apartment waiting for my parcel. Then as usual, you are directed to go to the post office to pick it up!

The postal rates out of Canada even to US is astronomical. There have been reports of postal workers arrested with mountains of undelivered mail and parcels in their homes! These people decided to take a break and just brought your mail home and left them there! At least, in Singapore, I have never heard this happened.

I think the best postal service is in the U.S.A.

Its the same situation everywhere.. Nowadays you hardly see the traditional postmen in their scooters delivering mails in HDB estates.. They sub con the whole bloody things to these Uncles and Aunties.. Some of these contract chaps even use their onw cars to deliver mails around the HDB estates..

I got no issue with these people getting the contracts but some of them really do a fucked up poor job.. The Auntie delivering mails at my neighbourhood obtained a contract for more than 10 blocks.. Its just too much for her to handle more than 10 blocks but she's fuckin greedy.. Due to her greediness, at times I also received late delivery of my mails..

I wouldn't be surprised if the same problems already exists in Spore:o.
It's just that people's complaints are being ignored. The local media is reluctant to report 'problems' with the Spore system.

I remember someone in this forum writing about seeing some undelivered mail being left at his block:eek: I doubt Singpost monitors customer satisfaction:rolleyes: There is a a peanut culture in Spore  It's all about $$$ without the service.

Why such a big problem? Not in, not delivered.Just go to the office and collect your registered post. This has been the way SingPost is doing for so long. One such incident and you condemn the whole SingPost. Look at the crowd and the queue at the office!!! It's madness! I think SingPost is doing too many things at one time. The staff are stressed to the limit. But I always find the staff very polite, very patient and very helpful - despite the tough job.

iHerb has the best shipping & service for international customers.

The new shipping option "DHL Express Saver" is great but you still have to pay GST. While their shipping for the cheapest option 'Global mail' is now free as long as your purchase is between US$40 to $80 AND you don't have to pay GST.

For me its not a problem waiting 2 to 3 weeks for my order.

Whether they are polite, patient or rude, busy or not is NOT the issue. I'm criticising their home delivery service .
Previously Singpost did do re-deliveries. The termination of re-deliveries is very recent & is a reduction of services.

I'm not asking for the postman to do a special trip, just that they do a re-delivery. This is the same route & schedule which they do 5 days a week.

It's no big mystery that people are very busy & unless they know they are going to be receiving a package, they won't be waiting around to greet the postman. If Singpost terminates re-deliveries , this will force people to join the long queues at the post office just to pick up their packages. Don't you think this is silly:confused:
