Contrary to many people's thinking, from both the PAP as well as opposition, THIS IS NOT A CHALLENGE.

This is in fact a great opportunity for him and I am actually doing him a big favour for inviting him to have a one week stay.

I am quite flexible with any arrangement and I would not insist on nitty gritty things BUT the travel on public transport to and forth from the place we stay is an important one.

If he is really sincere to learn more about the details, can email me to ask for it without committing to anything. I will be all willing to provide. But I will need to protect my friends from unnecessary flames before the invitation is confirmed.

I, too, think that this is the best option for him. His only hesitation is transparency. If you can be transparent about the details, I don't see why he will object. The other thing is formality. He will accept it if it can gain him political mileage. He will want to milk the highest publicity from it. So do it officially and he would want details to be thrashed out in the public, I think. Don't expect to have it all your own way.

As an opposition political activist, I also hope he doesn't reply but as Singaporean, I will be very worried if he listens to you because it will show the world how inappropriate for a Prime Minister of this country to act like this... lack of manners.

It is a matter of courtesy to reply to any invitation, even if it is just a simple no without any explanations. You don't just ignore any invitations to wedding dinners, grassroot events and worse, an open invitation by your own voters cum citizen. That would reflect very badly on him.
