If victim wants to compound, it is difficult for prosecution to proceed unless there are additional evidence, because you will never know what the victim is going to say on the stand. This is the same situation for simple whacking cases because there is little evidence. Harder for victim to evade if there are injuries like broken bones etc.

it's not the victim who wants to compound. the victim agrees with the compund proposal. my point is, this is a loophole which will aggravte molest crimes in SG rather than deter molest.

i expect more SG gals will be molested because of this loophole. tha pap has abdicated its duty in this because it doesnot want to hold these molesters in jail. but the consequence is that more gals will be molested

In the case of molest, unlike broken bones etc, a lot of the evidence depends on the victim's testimony e.g. was there actually touching, was it with or without her consent. All this has to be adduced in court. You cannot do it with a victim unwilling to testify unless you have CCTV footage or other witnesses present.

Nowadays, molest charges in SG are allowed to be compounded by paying the victim $5,000 to $10,000.

If this continues, some guys will have no 2nd thought abt taking thier chances and may try molesting SG gals.
