if at home you got time, can make your own red wine with glutinous rice. cant remember but will ask again and post it here

Wow, Heng Hua Lang are good at making this stuff..;)

Hi Raiders, sorry to hear that.
If you can't cook youself, maybe you can ask your neighbour auntie or if you know some hawker to cook the 2 dish for you. pay them for the ingredient and cooking.

Hi, I need to know where to buy authentic (1) Sesame chicken with ginger and (2) Pig trotter with vinegar. Anyone can recommend me the place? Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I cannot reply to everyone. This miscarriage has put a phobia in us to try again. In fact, this is the second time. She seem ok with just the occasional crying. But I'm really worried that it could be hidden depression. I might have to send her for counselling.

Unless your wife was severely undernourished to begin with, none of the cockamamy recipes being bandied around in this thread are going to make a scrap of difference to her current health or to her ability to carry a fetus to full term in the future.

We are in the 21st century for goodness sake. Ancient China is but a distant memory.

the ingredients may not help but the feel good factor could....same as some modern Western vitamin stuff.

These are traditional food for women after birth. Not scientific.

If you want to get rid of wind, cut down on sugars n carbohydrates n take a lot of pro n prebiotics. Also drink green vege juices like cucumber n other green leafy veggies. You can't go wrong like that one

Might as well take a sugar pill if all that's needed is a placebo.

Old wives tale or recipe maybe, even if non-scientific (or medical) grounds.. it's "comfort" food. Nothing wrong with this nourishment:cool:

Old ginger clears the woman's wind. It's science.

My intention is to let her build back her health. I have gone to the chinese medicine hall and bought some herbs to make soup for her. The herbs are to help nourish the blood and to revitalise the health. Perhaps you can share with me how does the westerners nurse their women back to health after giving birth. Thank you in advance.

Thank you in advance.

bro,
western style of remedy is quite standard. drink plenty of water, eat well and rest well. and remember to exercise regularly too :):):)

My sister had a miscarriage and my mum treated her as if she had just delivered. Full confinement management.

i dont really go for old wives tales....i go for the old wives though....especially if they're fat, out of shape and have few teeth left.

Old wives tale or recipe maybe, with this nourishment:cool:

Hi all, sorry if I cannot reply everyone, especially the PMs. She has just finish her operation and is recuperating at the hospital now. Let me settle everything before I reply the PMs. The funny part is, the doctor actually told her that they will not scan her or do any check up on why she is prone to miscarriage unless it is more than 3 times. Anyone heard of such absurd saying?

Nothing is more authentic than cooking yourself.

The sesame oil chicken you buy outside: plenty of chicken oil, little or no sesame oil, lots of ginger pieces disguised as chicken.
The black vinegar pig trotters you buy outside, very diluted vinegar, lots of bones.

These two dishes are not among the top tier dishes of local hawker cuisine, so what you find outside is usually crap.

Two thirds of all miscarriages in the first trimester are caused by chromosome malformation which is a fancy term for saying that the fetus was too deformed to develop so the body does the natural thing which is to expel it. It's nature's way of ensuring that only healthy fetuses go full term.

If miscarriages occur more than 3 times in a row, then other causes need to be investigated as this falls outside of the statistical norms.

You are quite right Sir. Repeated miscarriage is a sign that something is not right. Yes, need to be thoroughly investigated. My heartfelt sympathy and empathy to Brother Raiders. Hope everything will settle well and the next baby will be fine. Thank you for sharing. We share your grief and your loss.
