Police have arrested 38 female foreigners for unlawful employment and immigration offences in an operation against errant entertainment outlets.

The six-hour operation started at about 10pm on August 17 and involved 70 officers from the Central Police Division and the National Environment Agency.

Entertainment outlets located at Jalan Sultan, Havelock Road, South Bridge Road, Little India and the Esplanade area were checked.

The 38 women who were arrested were from China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Investigations are on-going.

The 38 women who were arrested were from China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Investigations are on-going.

They can conduct these operations daily and there will always be arrests coz NO entertainment outlets have licensed hostesses. The way they go about their work, it seems to portray the impression that thru intel, these offenders were detected. Bloody joke. These offenders exist everynight at ALL outlets. Even at outlets whereby our govt's foreign guests are entertained.

to look good n in control, and to make raids as a routine. Its only if they want to work or not.
After more than a decade, student pass are still issued to KTV hostesses. So much so, for the

I am surprised that Esplanade has such outlets. Must go check it out.

Prostitution is not a problem. Condemning one 'vice' (commercial sex) while glorifying another (gambling) reeks of hypocrisy. The authorities have no moral authority.

If you want to close all possible sources of prostitution, shut down the two casinos too, for consistency.
