You have the valid point. Racism started by LEE KUAN YEW in his political agenda.

The actual fact is, indirectly LKY taking revenge and punish the malays, his hatred started with the Malaysia government so minority in Singapore suffered silently.

LKY also make a smart move not be detected in his racism, although LKY open up job vacancy for the malays, these job are basically are lower position such as fontline. The minority also are being used indirectly for PAP to win GE election because LKY knows the chinese cannot be trusted 100%.

During my Police force service 10 years ago, many chinese did not realize that most of the time, chinese minor offenders were released (for non-chinese will charge in Court) with warning by Investigation Officer but those with more serious cases will be dealt accordingly.

That is why many chinese like us are mistaken that the minority are trouble-makers which in fact based on my knowledge in the force, chinese are equally the same.

Today, our enemy is LKY and his family, I do hope all races put their difference behind. Lets work together to bring Singapore Our Home really A HOME, to bring prosperity and for our next future generation.

Now we have serious problem with foreign "so-called" talent invasion, singaporean well being such as job, PUB month bill, Town Council commitment in our HDB, our fellow senior citizen and government administration tranparency.

Bro, I am a Chinese and am living in Sydney and to tell you the truth, I have not experienced any form of racism. .

Bro - with all due respect, it is no doubt about it that OZ is indeed a nice place. Although not all ang moh are as bad as i imagine and experience, you are very lucky to have a good working experience with your ang moh boss.

As for me, my ang moh colleague is racist as per my earlier posting.

In my understanding, australia seems to be popular with racism not just by the attitude, through beating up asian as well when they have the opportunity.

I have not yet personally experience working in Australia except in some parts in Europe.

this has always been the case, but now that the whites/jews/asians/spanish/middle easterners etc have voted for a black man in the US, the norm has changed. race relations will never be the same.

most of us have our own experience with australia's persistent racism. we all have heard of a colleague or had a relative living/studying there. i myself have/had family in perth who suffered many humiliating events over the years. several years ago all the asians in perth were afraid to venture outside when the whites were attacking asian buisnesses. a cousin there told me a target was a nightclub in northbridge, perth so people stayed indoors for fear of being attacked. melbourne has seen many race related beatings and killings of asians recently as well.

but many people here know for themselves. you can visit sydney, go to chinatown and see how the chinese there keep to themselves.they dont interact with the locals there. ask them why. then you can see the crime in sydney and marvel at how little your money can buy there - but what else do you expect from Sydney - which is now more expensive than New York?

Ever boasted to me in australia HR practice now is to give those heavy work load jobs to Asians. Why? Because Asians are much harder working than their white counterparts. And of course the white fat lazy australian is always promoted over the hard working Asian there. Now I find this racist, and unfair. But thats the way it is in australia. and the singaporeans living there know it, but just wont admit the truth.

point is australia has a bad reputation for race relations and its not about to change soon.

News about Australia racism over the decades did not end afterall, I'm not trying to play favoritism, no doubt about it Australia is a beautiful place in fact better off than the blood sucking singapore life style.

Based on my experience working with the white skin, there like to rule the office staff in the Colonial way, show less respect towards the asian culture while they get along well within white skin.

I'm not saying all whites are bad but most of them. There are good ones but very few if lucky to meet one.

My company is MNC, quite numbers of them are white, most of them are hypocrite, some are quite a nice chap. I do play along office politics at the sametime I do "F" them when they try to cross over my boundary to show white are smarter so asian must suck their balls. - Sorry about this words.

Afterall Australian are no different, they act nice and gentleman towards the ladies but they act King towards asian man.

I hope you dont think I'm beginning to be racist, I'm stating the facts based on my experience as well.

If u are talking about Aussies or in general Ang Mors working in Spore - YES, MOST OF THEM ARE SHIT. In the first place, if they are that good, they would have stayput in Australia or relocate to the bigger west economy such as London or US. They think they are very smart and their skillsets are superior, and look down on the local Singaporeans. They are not sensitive to the local culture. Of course there are the good ones around but they are far and few - A few that I know find Spore is shit and eventually they go back or move to another more 'liberal' country to work.

Bro I think this is the general feeling that most local Sporeans have had working in Spore, is the same for me as well. Most of us didn't think these so-called Foreign Talents (including indians) contributed to the workplace or the organisation but instead they used power and politics to tame down the locals. In reality, local Singaporeans have become 'minority' ever since the floodgate was open to bring in foreign workers. Look at your workplace, 5 out of 10 have got to be foreigners. Look at the corporate hierachy only 1 out of 10 local held high/senior positions and mostly in the non-frontline dept like HR, finance or Operations. This is the trend and will keep going as more skilled Sporeans migrate overseas.

So seriously, Spore aren't any difference if you believe Asians are mistreated in Australia. Its is even worse feeling if you born and breed in Spore knowing you are being treated 2nd class in your own country.

FYI, the Climate Change Minister in Australia is a Chinese Malaysian migrant, the mayor in Melbourne council is a Hongkonger migrant. The Current Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is a Mandarin Speaking politician(we are talking about very fluent Mandarin here) and has a Chinese son-in-law. Definitely, the trend is changing and no longer you see only the whites represent in any workplace in Australia. You need to have an open mind.

Most Asian-Americans here voted for Hillary in the Primaries but Obama won. Then McCain chose Palin and frightened both the Hispanics, Asians, and all minorities. That's how Obama won. Its got nothing to do with race.

Race is not an issue at all here. Even the republicans are getting an Indian Fellow ready to lead the republican party in 2012. This Bob Jindal runs a state known for its very white baptist population. So remember where the white racists are in America, they voted for an Indian Governor. Maybe the blacks are indeed racists, they came out in overwhelming numbers and voted for Obama.

One thing the blacks did do, which no one was aware of, is 80% of them voted against legalizing gay marriage. All minorities are evenly split, but apparently the black vote got gay marriage banned in Florida and California.

I love to set my foot in Australia seriously not at this moment. I hope to hear more positive feedback how our yellow skin are treated though need not to be 100% good, but at least somewhere near 90% would just as good.

On the other hand, when it comes into politics differences, language is not a safe net for chinese people like us. We will still be at disadvantage unless we live in China.

I'm not asking you to move over to Australia, you could consider the US(crime & medical coverage is a concern), uk(high living cost, weather), Canada(too cold) or even Thailand. Just get out of Spore is a blessing in long term, for yourself or family.

Really, I didn't feel like I've been mistreated, shopping here is a good experience as most of the staff are courteous and helpful, unlike those we experienced in Sg. In fact, the negative experiences I have had came from Asians rather then the whites. The workplace culture here is defintely better then Sg, with the minorities well represented in every department and some Asians have done pretty well becoming Senior Managers. The government takes care of the people although there are still rooms for improvement ,and ministers here do get critism openly everyday in the media. (and they don't get rediculous salaries like in Sg. There's no foreign talent policy here as every migrant has to prove his/her worth and culture fit. When the economy is down the government will adjust the immigration numbers to avoid competition in the job market and not open the floodgate freely like in Sg.

Its all up to you where you want to be but first you have to got an open mind. There is nothing worse then being a second class(to some people, Sporeans are 3rd class) in your own country.

well, safety in the western world is an issue for migration. but when you land in a country and your skin color sets you apart, you are already a second class citizen in australia.

one last point. of all the western country to migrate to, the US is the hardest - many millions from around the world applying there, but other country like australia easy - they need people - people are leaving australia.
