Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest to join an illustrious list of ambassadors for the Singapore Olympic Foundation - Peter Lim scholarship.

SINGAPORE: Students at Crest Secondary were in for a treat on Wednesday.

Football superstar and icon Cristiano Ronaldo dropped by to visit the school for a sharing session.

The Real Madrid forward is the latest to join an illustrious list of ambassadors for the Singapore Olympic Foundation - Peter Lim scholarship.

His visit was to raise awareness for the programme and to inspire the students of the newly set-up Specialised School for Normal Technical.

"It is good to see the boys here to encourage them for a better future and for them to believe in (themselves), because everyone in their lives have opportunities, and I wish all the best (to) all of them," said the Portuguese.

Ronaldo gave some advice to the students in a brief question-and-answer session.

He also put on a show of skills that he is so famous for.

With recent speculation that Ronaldo could be nearing an exit from Real Madrid, questions about his future inevitably surfaced.

The 28-year-old though said he is happy to stay at the Spanish club.

"I really miss English football. For me, it was one of the best years in my career when I was there in Manchester United. Everyone knows that. It is the club that is still in my heart and I really, really miss (United), said Ronaldo.

He added: "But now my life is in Spain, I'm enjoying playing there too. Part of my life is there but the future, we never know but I'm really, really happy in the Spanish league at the moment."
