Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Budi Susanto, the president of PT Citra Mandiri Metalindo Abadi (PT CMMA), the winner of tender for the procurement of driving simulators for the police traffic corps is facing a 12-year jail term on alleged corruption and kickback.

General prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Riyono asked the anti corruption court on Thursday to sentence Budi to 12 years imprisonment with a fine of Rp500 million or an additional jail term of 6 months.

The prosecutor also asked the court to rule a compensation of Rp88.4 billion to the state or an additional jail term of 6 years.

In the indictment, the prosecutor said Budi had embezzled Rp88.4 billion in state fund for himself, Rp36.93 billion for former chief of police traffic corps Ins. Gen. Djoko Susilo and Rp50 million for Djokos deputy Didik Purnomo.

The prosecutor said, also involved in the corruption case are the director of PT Inovasi Teknologi Indonesia Sukotjo S Bambang, police cooperative (Primkoppol), a number of other police officials.

He said Budi had caused a total loss of Rp144.98 billion to the state, based on a report from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

Djoko Susilo was already convicted by the anti corruption court slapping a 10 year jail term for him. Later the appeal court gave him a heavier punishment of 18 year with a fine of Rp1 billion or an additional jail term of 1 year.

The high court also ruled Djoko to pay Rp32 billion in compensation or an additional jail term of 5 years.

The high court verdict was precisely as demanded by the KPK prosecutors.

KPK has confiscated a number of Djokos assets including houses and cars believed to be the result of the corruption.
