For once I agree with you, if she win she will continue as MP.
She lost with a NCMP seat (much lower allowance) she came up with excuses not to take the seat.
If the final decision is to vacant this NCMP seat then Oppositions wasted one NCMP seat in this 13rd Parliament.
Because unlike losing PAP candidates, she does not have cushy jobs that will await her in the private sectors should she take up NCMP. She also cannot suka suka take leave like Victor Lye who took a 1.5year leave to do grassroot activities. At least she is honest that she cannot be a competent NCMP.

Does NOT make an IOTA of difference whether the NCMP seat is vacant or not. For that matter even the remaining elected WP MPs in parliament won't make any difference either. Just sit back and DO NOTHING for the next 5 years and enjoy the salaries for they will be WIPED OUT in GE2020 given the mentality of SINKIE voters.

Have to agree with you that it is disappointing for Li Lian not to take up the NCMP seat. If you are for the people, work it out for the net 4 years to prove yourself. That first win in Punggol was just a fluke for someone who was not a known face there. There is a price to pay for politics. But where is the financial support from the party? Isn't it a norm for the party to collect some token every month to pay for party expenses, including maybe supporting a NCMP seat?

She should look up to her WP predecessor - JBJ, one the first NCMPs to have spoken in Parliament. JBJ didn't have a cushy job either, but sacrifice followed by sacrifice.
