Before the election hustings began, Desmond Choo claimed that he was "independent", and that he was "his own man" and further made the claim that "party bigwigs" would not be involved in his campaign.
However, over the past week or so, it has been Teo Chee Hean making headlines almost every day. He is the one who first stirred sh1t by claiming that Png Eng Huat was a WP reject, since they chose not to send him to Parliament last year as NCMP. Then, he attacked Png's integrity and accused him of being dishonest.
Apart from him, we also have Khaw Boon Wan coming out and claiming that if WP were to form the government, ministers would resign and just disappear (obviously trying to use YSL saga to paint WP in a bad light).
We saw Khaw and Heng Swee Keat with Desmond on Nomination Day. We also saw reports of LHL and TCH (plus other PAP members) going door to door to canvass votes for Desmond. Apparently, Baey Yam Keng said he went door to door to help Desmond visit flats that "he himself had not visited yet due to lack of time". However, Desmond had more than 1 year to visit these flats. Why only wait until election time? Doesnt the PAP always criticise opposition candidates for showing up only at election time?
So, are voters of Hougang supposed to make a choice between Png Eng Huat and Desmond Choo?
