1) Removal of PAP from power in SG
2) Removal of NTUC and to institute real unions that protect workers
3) A powerful and competent CASE that is non-partisan (independent)
4) Removal of CPIB from PMO and to be independent
5) Removal of partisanship power over kindergartens, running of town councils, upgrading programmes, PA
6) Accountability at Temasek and GIC and any other GLCs
7) Removal of current procedures at setting the pay of ministers and top-end civil servants to better reflect the role of civil servants. We will reward them well for the rest of their lives but we will not pay them ridiculous amounts of money that does nothing but to attract poorly aligned civil servants.
8) Make the Elections Office independent and free from partisanship
9) Have MoM install a procedure similar to UK where companies can only hire FTs after it is proven that local sare not able to or will not take on jobs given to FTs. This will also cover FTs renewing their employment passes.
10) Dismantling of a number of GLCs to promote more homegrown entreprenuership
11) Repurchase of power plants from foreign ownership
12) Removal of GLCs that restrict competition but allow for GLCs for the protection of strategic industries
13) Removal of unfair and unnecessary taxes against the populace
14) Reinstitute estate duty/tax - FTs can come and make our island their home but they have to understand that paying estate taxes is the cost of entry. We have done a lot over the years to ensure that the country is clean and largely safe and without natural disasters, there are a lot of welathy individuals who will not mind paying estate duty to settle here.
15) Change the system in which the judiciary is chosen - make the judiciary independent of the political arm
16) Reduce the number of MPs to better reflect the size of our country and to encourage only full-time MPs - includes removal of SM/MM roles
17) Remove all non elected MPs
18) All police/ISD/CAD?CPIB interrogation/interviews to be CCTV-ed 24 hours/at all times
19) Criminalise the use of foreign guards/soldiers on local soil
20) Require all politicians and high office holders of GLCs and stat boards to declare their income and assets once every two years.
21) Allow the use of CPF to pay off certain accrued debts to garment agencies
22) Change the entire education system to allow for an open-ended education system
23) Removal of all current and ex-ISD officers from SPH
24) Allow for a freer media industry
25) Seperate the excutive branch & organs of the State from any political affliation - covered a couple of areas above but this one is to cover all ot4her areas
26) Start a board of inquiry into Operation Cold Store. Any illegal activity to be investigated and persons found to have infringed the law(s) to be brought to justice
27) Start a board of inquiry into racial riots in the 60s to look into possible illegal activities by persons yet to have faced te law for any of their digression.
28) Total revamp of HDB and pricing of public housing. This to include all other garment agencies involved with land ownership and rental, including office/factory space
29) Initiate a programme to bring back the CPF to what it was original used for - old-age pension.
30) Look into returning CPF to those 55 and above, as promised in the early days
31) Remove certain goods and services from the GST coverage to ligten the load on poorer families
32) Look into improving productivity at the SMRT immediately
33) Removal of ISD - don't remove but tune it so as it is not used as a political tool but for the safety of the people.

34) Start a new task force that targets organised crime that includes, prostitution, loan sharking, smuggling of goods and people. The orginaised criminals now seem more organised than the poodles.

35) Increase salary of the lower waged police and customs and immigration workers and simultaneously increase the penalty if they are found to be corrupt.

36) Reduce annual in-camp reservist from 4 weeks to 2 weeks and disallow SAF from carrying over the 2 weeks onto another year if it is not used. Use more regulars to help setup reservist stints to ensure more productive time during reservist training.

37) Restrict each individual from owning more than one property, be it private or public housing. Those currently with more than one property will be given time (6 months to three years) to sell the additional houses. SLA to look into the selling so that the market is not flooded with houses. Singapore is too small to allow for speculation in the property market. Those that want to speculate can do so overseas.

38) More healthcare benefits for everybody as we have spent too little on healthcare. Our hospitals are ridiculously overcrowded. Will look into requiring private hospitals to use 30% of their facilities as part of a public hospital. This to happen for a few years until newer hospitals are built to cater to our population.

39) Institute unemployment benefits for laid off families - once the ridiculous housing issues are covered ,we can look into using part of the CPF to help the unemployed to use part of their CPF to tide them over hard times.

40) Free education up to secondary school. University to expensive lah but will look into making it cheaper for Singaporeans to obtain degrees.

- No more unnecessary investments in foreign banks and financial institutions.
- certainly the PAPies greed is also their weakness.

- Encourage people to speak up
- Yes, this will be a side effect of the many more liberal policies covered in other areas.

- Freedom of Peaceful Assembly
- already covered in removal of emergency laws which restricts many political activities

- Removal of Executive influences over Judiciaries.
- already covered

- Control population growth (do away unnecessary immigrants, send them back)
- already covered

- Improvement of Infrastructures
- covered with SMRT and with fewer FTs, we should be able to manage. I will add onto medical above to also cover this area as we spend very little as compared to toher developed countries.

- Provides monetary incentives to automate the production plants, to rely less on foreign workers.
- let each company decide what is best for them but have garment agencies to help out when required

- Encourage the growth of SMEs.
- already covered

- Expand University education, conduct more research through provision of more funds.
-will look into this but will definitely look into reducing expenditure on scholarships for FTs.

- Removal of stupid titles like MM/SM and jiak liao bees in PMO office.
- Already covered

- Limit the President/PM to serve max of 2 terms.
- maybe three terms is better as being small and three generation of Singaporeans either being jailed and forbidden from politics or politically naive.

- Speed up Internet access to 100Gbps!! - will try lah but with a more competitive media industry and a CASE that actually protects consumers, we can expect better services and perhaps cheaper.

- Have a balance budget! - a balanced isn't a good thing. a budget is not only to finance the country's expenditure but also as a macroeconomic tool. In certain years a deficit is good while in others a surplus is good. But you cannot believe the PAPies because they do not release and hence do not include the figures for land sales and this is a significant amount.

- Removal of CASINOs - too late now and too soon to close it. agreed it is better not to have it but more has to be studied to look at how to manage this diabolical beast.

- Removal of Prostitutions
- have to better manage it.

- Lift the ban on Satellite TV
- This is possible but maybe do it slowly. There is concern that local shows may suffer from lower viewership and hence we lose a common identity. More needs to be looked at and also if and how to limit the number and type of channels.

-Control the HDB Prices, don't let it skyrocket without unnecesarily
- already covered

think our President is already limited to 2 terms but I don't know if it's 2 terms at 1 go or 2 terms per lifetime.

don't think any countries has a term limit on PM. A PM is expected to serve beyond 2 terms if there are no challenges from inside his party.

South Korea has military aggressive North Korea to deal with. Republic of China will phase out conscription in a few years time.
Singapore have no enemies. I really don't know why we must have reservist?

You want Presidential system?, wouldn't save costs this way. We will be paying for the President, Vice President, President's executive branch and a legislative too.

instead of having a pm a president and a deputy, just combined the roles of a pm and a president together...and limit them to a max of 3 terms 4 years per term......

increasingly, it is getting to be just one word - after next GE :-

U T O P I A ! :p

It isn't utopia. Most of the points stated would have been instituted if the PAP were not in power all these years.

If you go through the list, not one, including the restriction on ownership of multiple houses is extraordinary.

What we want and need as a people are very basic indeed. That is the irony and all are relatively easy to achieve as long as we can vote out the PAP in the next GE.

It really is that simple. Simply vote out more than 40+ MPs of the PAPies and the country belongs to us.

Fair point but I think more has to be looked into this plus it isn't that important at this point in time.

Please see if you can add to the list with other ideas or to better word what is already up there.

Come on people.

Take note that the list covers very basic needs of our society and yet they will never happen as long as te PAP remains in power. This is why we have to vote the PAPies out in the next GE. If we don't, they will consolidate their power even more and run the country to ruin.

All this talk about tightening FT inflow is just talk because they do want cheap labour as they are the largest employer in SG and more people means higher GDP and that means higher pay for them.

We have no choice but to vote them out. Everyone has to do their part. The country doesn't belong to a handful of traitors. The country belongs to Singaporeans.

Vote the PAP out!

Vote the PAP out!

Very entertaining proposition. Some points are worth considering, however, some points are really entertaining.

However, when the PAPPIES are being voted out, who do you think could lead Singaporeans?

Just from my observation, I could not see any team of alternative right now that is strong enough to have a majority vote against PAP.

There are 84 Seats.

File:Singapore_electoral_boundaries_2006.png

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Singaporean_electoral_divisions

Most of the seats are represented via GRCs. Now to a size of 5 to 6 seats per GRC, making the competition even tougher, this is called politics!

In order to win against PAP, the combined Oppositions must be in sum total of 51%.

After said that, when the PAP have 49%, as compared to individual Opposition Party, they are still the RULING PARTY....

My personal proposal is to URGE all the OPPOSITION PARTIES to work as one.

If their chief aim is really for the good of Singapore, they should combine forces, and work as one unified group, and compete against the PAP.

There should not be any question about self benefits, because serving a nation should be duty, not for profit...

Likewise, it's not so easy to gain popular support with Singaporeans, especially most of the baby boomers Singaporean Generations were truly the benefactors of the PAP policies from 1970s onwards till end of 1990s.

Ask anyone of those above 55, and most of them can tell you that the PAP is doing a good job in turning SINGAPORE from a fishing village to world class...

However, right now, the majority of people from 21 to 40s... are experiencing the effects of the failed policies of PAP... and are feeling neglected by the Government.

The Government should serve the people, with the people's interest at heart, but not for profit.

I hope that the next ruling party, whoever it is, look carefully into their own policies, and forecast & predict the repercussions on it's effect on its people.

Overall, I will vote PAP out, but who would be contenting for my GRC, that's another question all together.

We want change for the better, not for the worst...

43 seats for the win. The Alternative Parties can consolidate after the elections and not necessarily before.

Unlike previous GEs, the next one has the PAPies on the defensive. They have lost their invinsibility with regrads to safeguarding our reserves and the influx of FTs and high prices for HDB is now seen as a detriment and not a bonus as was the case before.

What the Alternative PArties need to do now is to source votes from the civil service, Malays and the elderly. If these groups can be won over then there is a very high chance of voting out the PAPies.

The APs have to come up with strategies to attract these groups who have prevously mostly voted for the PAPies.

Everyone has to understand that the list is short but very important towards building a society that is liveable for all Singaporeans, rich or poor, sick or healthy.

Dear ChaoPappyPoodle,

Do you have any ideas, or anyone here know when the election would be due?

It may seem like a sudden call for election, don't you think so?

When popularity of the PAPPIES drops, it's natural that they would want to have a surprise Election, for damage control.

If anyone knows, please broadcast, so that we Singaporeans can go and support the Rally's of the Alternative Party to send a strong and clear message that the people of Singapore are sick and tired of the detrimental policies to the people...

We do not want to live in Modern Serfdom anymore!

Word on the street, from CB RC mouth themselves is between June-Aug 2009.

The man to lead Singapore out of the current ruin is JBJ's son - a trained economist.

Regardless of when it happens, we should start now to influence others to vote for the Alternative Parties and how the country will go into deeper ruin if te PAPies continue their poor handling of the economy and society as a whole.

I like to tell taxi drivers that their licenses may not be renewed or may be difficult because soon even FTs will be driving taxis just like how they are now driving buses and commercial vehicles.

Tell uni students and young adults that a 4-5 room flat will soon cost $1million if things are left to the PAP.

Tell everyone how when te country faced its worst economic crisis in the modern era, the garment only spent ridiculously small amount of the reserves on the people and most of it actually went to their own companies as they are the largest employer in SG>

Tell everyone how it will be more difficult to earn a living in the NEAR future and that the PAPies have already stated that they want a population of 6.5 million and that FTs and PRs will continue to come by the hundreds of thousands to help the PAPies reach this goal.

Tell them that more people here means more taxes and higher GDP and all leads to more pay for the PAPies and that is why this is happening.

Tell them that the next GE is their last chance before the country drops further into a tailspin where it will take at least 1-3 generations to recover from.

We only need to replace 43 MPs and not the entire civil service or an army. Just 43 people and the country belongs to us again. We can set up programmes to ease congestion everywhere and being the economy under control and ensure that we have a garment that works for the people.

Mai tu liao! The 33% have to start working now to do their part.
