SINGAPORE: Two young men were arrested on Wednesday for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
The first youth, aged 16, was arrested at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 after police investigations revealed he was helping loansharks collect debts.
A hand phone believed to contain debtors' records was seized by the police.
In a separate case, a second youth, aged 23, was detained by a resident who alerted the police at Sengkang East Way.
Several packets of paint, plastic bags and a marker were found in the youth's bag.
Police said the suspect was planning to splash paint outside debtors' homes in Jurong West, Bukit Panjang and Sengkang.
The 23 year old will be charged in court on Friday.
Investigations on the 16-year-old suspect are still ongoing.
