The Scots might push for an independence referendum, due to gains by the SNP.

Can push...but can win or not? Cannot win.. have referendum is just wasting every ones time...n if Scotland secede ..labour will never win an erection again. Labour support in the past has always been the North n Scotland. SNP takes votes from labour n vice versa. This time round Scottish nationalism has taken over from labour. Basically labour is toast unless it reforms itself. N labour has gone soo far left n the middle ground members of the Blair era have all been purge. Labour is going to be out in the wilderness. This is the time for the Brexit party to work their way in to traditional labour strongholds. Brexit party is going to change to reform party because Brexit will no longer b an issue. Farage can effectively fill the vacuum. Just my rants

the English are quite liberal, if that's the right word. USA like UK is an advanced democratic country, but no states are allowed to secede from the federation.

43% voted conservatives but they got 365 seats. This is hardly democratic.
This is the result of unfair " first past the post system" which protects the establishment.

In europe, many countries adopt proportional representation. That means, if you get 10% of votes, party get 10% of seats in parliament. If 43%, you get 43% of seats.

Borus dud not want a second referendum because he knew he will lose. A election is biased towards the two big parties. But labour votes were split with lib dems and snp giving conservatives a clear run as only brexit party wuth no split votes.
Labour should have formed a coaItion with lib dems and snp but did not.
