Bai En Says Symbolic Goodbye To Bryan Wee With A Banana
Earlier this month, internet celebrity Bryan Wee, now known as Bai En (白蒽), announced he would be officially be transitioning into a woman. Despite the doubts, it seems that by the end of March, we will be saying bye to Bryan and hello to Bai En!
During Bai En’s initial announcement, she had claimed she would be heading to Thailand for a gender reassignment surgery. Her decision had many questioning her, yet the internet celeb is sticking by her word as just yesterday (25th March), she revealed she was already on her way.
Bai En announced the beginning of her journey via her socials, saying a final goodbye at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). “Papa, Mama, I’m leaving for Thailand now. I will be back safe,” she promised in her video. The content creator was notably dressed in her iconic Barbie outfit.
As a symbolic farewell to her old self, Bai En extracted a banana from the front of her pants, which she then viciously snapped in two. Looking satisfied and happy, she then walked away to get ready for her flight. But, as it turns out, she wasn’t the only one to say bye to her former identity.
Bai En’s good friend and fellow content creator “Malaysian Wang Leehom” (大马王力宏)” Kiang Jau Sang (江昭上) had apparently also seen her off at the airport. In a video which was later posted, Jau Sang apparently took the opportunity to confirm Bai En’s decision before saying farewell. “Are you really going to (cut it off)?” he asked to Bai En’s confident, “Yes, really.” Upon hearing her determined tone, he solemnly knelt to say his goodbyes.
Netizens have since declared their support for Bai En in the comments, with several wishing for her safe return. However, some have also made it clear what they think of her being a “transvestite” and a few have claimed she will “regret it“.
The internet celebrity is slated to return to Malaysia on 30th March and will likely be flaunting her womanhood when she returns. For now, we wish her well and hope things will go smoothly for her.
