Teen molester in Tampines gets 3 years probation

SINGAPORE: A teen molester who terrorised Tampines residents for two months was punished in court on Thursday.
Jeremy Yeo Ming Che, 16, was given three years' probation for attacking children and adults aged between 11 and 41 years old.
He committed the offences between February and March at various void decks and lift lobbies in Tampines.
The fair and plump youth pleaded guilty to six charges of outrage of modesty and wrongful restraint.
On March 22, at a lift lobby, Yeo covered the mouth of an 11-year-old girl to prevent her from screaming before molesting her.
He restrained his other victims in a similar manner before grabbing their breasts and buttocks.
The court heard that he usually met his victims by chance while on his way home.
He would then follow them, cover their mouths, and molest them before running home.
He was diagnosed with paedophilia by the Institute of Mental Health.
In addition to his probation, District Judge Ng Peng Hong ordered him to perform 60 hours of community service and to attend a sexuality treatment programme.
His parents also have to post a bond of S$5,000 to ensure his good behaviour, and to supervise his computer usage.
