Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration announced Sunday it has banned imports of Canadian beef products effective that day following the confirmation of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE)–better known as mad cow disease–in a beef cow in Alberta.
Canada confirmed the case Feb. 13 in what is the first reported case of BSE in the country since 2011.
