Student charged with theft
By Leow Si Wan
ONE of the seven Seng Kang Secondary School boys arrested for theft-related offences was brought before the district court on Tuesday to face theft charges. If convicted, 16-year-old T. Luke Sebastian can be imprisoned for up to seven years and can also be fined. He has been released on a $20,000 bail and will be in court again on Oct 11.
According to court documents, the Singaporean student had allegedly stolen $30 and a Samsung mobile phone worth close to $100 on Monday. The police said they had received a call at about 2pm that day from the school located in Compassvale Lane informing them about the theft. The boy was taken to the police station - together with six other schoolmates.
