Stand United behind TKL - Make our country think twice about hiking GST and living/transport costs

Stand United behind TKL

SOS could no longer catch up with the pace in life. I believe that the coming PE is our chance to make ourselves heard. I appeal to everyone, to consolidate our strength behind TKL.
Most opposition members are behind him.

Our Inflation are Self-Inflicted
This week, CNA posted an article that mentioned that cost of imports are falling due to our strong Singapore dollar. However, inflation continued to be high due to soaring labour, transport and operating costs (rental?) in Singapore.

In the past six months, developed countries like United States, developing countries like Indonesia, are reporting slowing inflation while Singapore's inflation remained high due to GST hike, high fuel taxes and high COE prices. Please don't assume that COE and fuel taxes don't affect you because they affect your public transport fares.

1. GST
Our next PM hiked GST since taking over. Did Heng Swee Kiat step down because he refused to hike GST? We don't know, but I know that our country will think twice about hiking GST further in 2024, if TKL wins.

2. Transport & Utility Costs

Transport and utilities cost will keep increasing in 2024 if we don't raise our objections through our votes. When oil prices crashed 50% from the peak after Ukraine war started, our fuel prices remained high because the bulk of our fuel price is made up of fuel tax, carbon tax, GST. Don't worry about Singapore Power because they are making over a billion from us annually, our utilities were not subsidized.

3. Hyflux
Hyflux was a scam by financial institutions. I lost my savings in Hyflux. Without investigation, under Tharman's care, MAS & Parliament declared the underwriters innocent although it was an outright fraud; DBS used retail investors to bail out their secondary market Accredited Investors. PUB went on to cover-up the issue. Over the years, TKL continued to voice his support the victims of this scandal.

4. B&W Bungalows
It was worrying that the head of our nation's legal institution lacked integrity, it was clearly a material conflict of interest. All law students were taught they should never admit wrong. All SAF drivers were instructed never to say "sorry" when they hit a civilian vehicle. Apparently, they heed this advice. I used to carry deep respect for the members of CPIB because they were a very small community of people from humble backgrounds who lived a secluded and honest life to maintain the highest standard reputation of our country's judiciary system. By the same standard, any junior AGO staff will definitely flag the matter.

5. Limit White Collar Jobseekers from Overseas
Singaporeans in private sectors are facing a tough time with higher retrenchment. New Singaporean employees in public service and stat boards are now hired under contracts instead of perm jobs. We welcome foreigners who really helped Singapore such as the construction workers, cleaners and other blue collar workers. But time and again, locals are losing jobs, facing head-count freeze in private sectors. Eg. Are we not the largest shareholder in Standard Chartered Bank? but almost every department head in their Singapore office are from South Asia. Go and see the numbers of Malaysians holding middle and senior management positions in HP and 3M Singapore. It's not as if we don't have capable people. Moreover, young Singaporeans continue to lose opportunities to foreigners in workplace due NS obligations.

CANDIDATES
NKS and Tharman are closely affiliated to our incumbent. Choosing them is just like a woman marrying a proper man - good education, good careers, etc. But in the end, the wife realizes that the man that they married don't talk to them, not interested to listen to them, and don't know their hearts. Then the husband went on to have more women outside (bring in foreigners) and raise other mistresses' children (provide scholarships for foreigners).

If either of them win, it is still a dreamy world; nothing will change. We have been disappointed with the cruel policies and arrogant leadership who mocked us. Many of us wrote to government for help, including myself. All I got is a template reply.

Getting TKL to be our next President, will be a more neutral people's representative. It will make our policymakers think twice for us.
Please stand united behind TKL and let ourselves be heard. You will never walk alone.

Thank you

Lol if u vote for Tan Kin Lian…

"Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face" is an expression used to describe a needlessly self-destructive overreaction to a problem: "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face" is a warning against acting out of pique, or against pursuing revenge in a way that would damage oneself more than the object of one's anger.[1]

Being the overpaid Istana doggie is not going to change that.

The WEF picks who to take charge of a country, while giving you the illusion of choice.

If a career politician doesn't condemn and disavow the WEF, chances are he or she is a WEF puppet.

SINGAPORE (Aug 20): Singapore is going ahead with the planned hike of the goods and services tax (GST) from 8% to 9%, with effect from Jan 1 next year.
The government is considering a bigger "Assurance Package", in a mix of vouchers and other subsidies, to help people deal with the higher cost of living as a result of the higher consumption tax, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
