<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A LONG-STANDING dispute between two rival seafood stallholders ended with one raising a chopper to threaten the other, a court heard. Shortly before brandishing the chopper to threaten the victim, Madam Koh Chiam Kee, on Feb 23, Teo Siang Liang, 49, had taken a few pictures of the 52-year-old's stall at the wet market at Block 448 Clementi Avenue 3.

A Community Court heard that Teo who runs a seafood stall with her husband, Mr Tan You Wha, 56, had a dispute with Madam Koh that morning. They stopped when police intervened. About an hour later, Teo confronted Madam Koh and said she wanted to beat her up. She later entered the victim's stall, picked up a chopper to cause alarm to the victim.

Her husband intervened and stopped her
. During a brief struggle, Teo pulled the victim's hair and caused her to trip and fall to the ground. Community Court judge Soh Tze Bian called for a probation report on Oct 25. He also directed the prosecution to find out if Teo's acute stress reaction had any link to her offences.

SINGAPORE: A fishmonger who had fought with another woman at a Clementi wet market has pleaded guilty to threatening her victim with a chopper.

Forty-nine-year-old Teo Siang Liang got into a fight with a neighbouring fishmonger, 52-year-old Koh Chiam Kee at Block 448, Clementi Avenue 3 on February 23.

It had been reported that Ms Koh had accused Teo's husband, 56-year-old Tan You Wha, of molesting her.
MediaCorp understands that no further action will be taken against Mr Tan.

Teo confronted Ms Koh at around noon that day and told her neighbour that she wanted to beat her up. She marched over to Ms Koh's stall, picked up the chopper and threatened her with it.

Mr Tan intervened and removed the weapon from Teo's hand. A scuffle then broke out between the two women and Teo pulled Ms Koh's hair, causing her to fall to the ground.

Passers-by stepped in to separate them and police soon arrived at the incident. District Judge Soh Tze Bian has called for a probation report and Teo will be back in court on October 25.

She can be jailed up to two years, fined or both.
