SINGAPORE: The Police Coast Guard has arrested six foreigners and seized S$400 for their involvement in the illegal sales of marine gas oil (MGO).
Police said between March 25 and April 1, the suspects -- who were crew members of a tugboat -- siphoned about 2,700 litres of MGO from the tugboat's daily usage fuel tank to another tank on board without the owner's knowledge.
The suspects allegedly sold about 3,600 litres of MGO for $3,000 at sea off West Jurong on March 24.
The six suspects will be charged in court on Friday. - CNA/de
