SINGAPORE: The country is about to get a new Prime Minister, and a good portion of Singaporeans are feeling good about it, according to a new poll from YouGov. Across all ages polled, the majority expressed their expectations from the incoming PM.

20 per cent said the news made them feel “hopeful,” while 13 per cent said it made them feel “confident.” Almost as many (12 per cent) said it made them “happy,” and 9 per cent said they were surprised to hear the news.

Between April 18 and 20, 2024, YouGov surveyed over 1000 Singaporean adults from the age of 18 onward on Mr Wong taking on the role of Prime Minister and published its results on Wednesday (April 24).

The response to the announcement of Mr Wong’s swearing-in has been positive, although a sizable percentage of respondents said they had no reaction to the news.

Across generations, Baby Boomers (18 per cent) expressed the most confidence in Mr Wong.

While 36 per cent of the respondents had no reaction to the news, the number of Millennial respondents with this response (40 per cent) was the highest.

When asked about their expectations of Mr Wong, Baby Boomers (43 per cent) and Gen Z (41 per cent) had the highest number of respondents, saying they had “a lot of expectation” from him, although the result is pretty consistent across all generations.

We Singaporeans will leave NO ONE behind, unless they wish to wallow in depressive UNNECESSARY self pity with blaming others for their plight.

These are not good times, beyond our small red dot island's control & EACH will have to pull up their boot straps, STAND UP, with hardwork, skills upgrade, intelligence & COURAGE with a CLEAR MIND to put food on the table for oneself & loved ones...just as our Founding & forefathers had proven & done whom gave us our todays.

So do NOT give up, on hope life & love
. It is what that sustains us, TOGETHER. to provide with honest efforts, to grow, progress & evolve as our sacred National Pledge taught us to...You are just as capable as the next Human beside you, with hands, legs & brains.

Do not downplay the efforts by our Elected govt, comprising of both current & opposition parties, whom is often 3 Critical steps ahead of anyone else, as they are staffed with the best ( not perfect ), but had attempted to elevate lives since our hard won & earned Independence from colonial & racism rule by others. They are burning the midnight oil everyday, just as they had done during their formative years at schools & work to discuss, debate & find solutions to lead & assists us to help alleviate sufferings for many in many innovative ways....

Perhaps the insignificant nobody me optimism stems from my NS days events, an eye opener of self discovery & maturity...Some of us whom took on the grueling Standard Obstacles Test (SOC) in full military hardware gear reached the end line in quick time, but instead of resting, we turned back in our full battle order, ran to our platoon mates whom were far behind, to motivate them to make it to the finish line, to leave none behind... as a chain is only as strong as its weakest link....

May this music, when played loud on ATMOS speakers or earphones on loop, help motivate you. We had been through a lot in this journey of life, just as our founding & forefathers had courageously done, to leave none behind, & upturn the downturn, no matter the situations or circumstances....You are not alone...
