SINGAPORE: A Singaporean man was shot dead in Manila last month, apparently by two gunmen.

Reports coming out of the Philippines said Mr Murali Rajappan was shot at about 11.40pm on 28 November.

They said the 44-year-old businessman was found along a street in the Malate district of Manila.

He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said the reports.

Police are investigating the motives behind the incident, including robbery.

Responding to Channel NewsAsia's enquiry, Singapore's Foreign Affairs Ministry said it is aware of the case.

A ministry spokesman said the embassy in Manila is rendering consular assistance to Mr Murali's family.
