Sex offender sent for reform

A YOUTH who had underage sex with two 15-year-old girls while under probation was sentenced to reformative training on Monday. The court had earlier called for probation and Reformative Training Centre reports on Lloyd Khoo, 16, after he admitted to three charges of having sex with a girl under 16. Probation was not recommended. Khoo was about 151/2 at the time when he had oral sex with a Secondary 4 student whom he came to know through Tagged website last March. On another occasion, he was at the victim's flat when he had sex with her. In the other case, a Secondary 3 student was introduced to Khoo by her friend. She skipped school in April, met up with Khoo who took her to his flat where they had consensual sex. District Judge Eddy Tham, who took three other similar charges into consideration, told Khoo that he needed a more structured environment to stop him from indulging in such self-gratification. Khoo, who will be spending at least 18 months behind bars, said he had learnt his lesson and felt guilty and sorry for the people he had hurt.
