Serial snatch thief caught
POLICE have arrested a 36-year-old man who is believed to be responsible for several cases of snatch theft involving elderly female victims in the Bedok North housing estate area. Since mid-December, several elderly women in the estate have fallen prey to the snatch thief. But none could provide a good description of the suspect. Officers from Bedok Police Division, through extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations, managed to establish the identity of the suspect, who was nabbed early on Tuesday morning in the vicinity of Bedok South housing estate. The suspect will be charged in Court on Wednesday for snatch theft. If convicted, he can be jailed up to seven years and caned.
