Drug user causes crash

A MAN suspected to have been high on drugs triggered a chain collision in Jalan Besar that left four people injured early on Friday.
Three cars were damaged in the 1.45am incident, including one that ploughed into a nearby coffee shop.
It all began when the 38-year-old driver of a Mazda sports car drove out of Syed Alwi Road, a minor road, into Jalan Besar. It is unknown how fast he was going.
He hit a white Honda Fit that, in turn, crashed into a silver Honda Civic parked along the road.
The white hatchback climbed the pavement and lurched into a coffee shop, toppling a chicken rice stall. It came to a rest with its front to the road.
The drivers of the two Honda vehicles, aged 27 and 34, were taken conscious to hospital. Also injured were a female pedestrian and a 70-year-old man, an assistant at the chicken rice stall run by his daughter. They were not seriously injured.
The driver of the Mazda vehicle was arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences. Some pills were found inside his car.
