Ask TJS to stand. He noted that he had garnered more than half a million votes in the PE, more votes than all 23 WP candidates combined in the GE. Thus, TJS has appeal, by his logic. He is a mathematical genius. You can now understand why he was a topflight fund manager.

Yes and no. The parties should bury all their differences (if any) amongst them choose a candidate (may even be an independant) that will best beat the PAP's candidate.
The idea is to bring in more opposition members into Parliament.
Fire on top or fire down below? Let the parties show their sincerity and choose the person.

That depend on how much they feel that Singapore would be better off by having more opposition MPs in Parliament to counter the PAP. Party interest should play second to Singapore's interest.
This will certainly be true if there are more then one opposition candidates contesting.
1 How does that help the oppositions? 2 Do you think bringing back a PAP candidate will make the PAP listen more to the Singaporeans and their needs? 3 They will probably be more aggrogant.
No, it won't help the opposition or ordinary singaporeans.
It's better to have one strong opposition candidate taking on the pap candidate.
I just don't think it will happen in this BE and comparing the 2 scenraios stated above, I prefer the more entertaining first.
It will show a lot about these 3 men which is useful information for us ordinary chaps.
