SINGAPORE: The revised registers of electors have been certified and are available for public inspection, the Elections Department said in a press release on Monday (Jul 27).

There are a total of 2,460,977 electors in the registers, the Elections Department said. Singapore Citizens may check their particulars in the registers through four channels:Online at the Elections Department website (http://www.eld.gov.sg)

  • At community centres/clubs (with NRIC/passport)
  • At Singapore overseas missions that serve as overseas registration centres (with NRIC/passport) as listed in Annex
  • At the Elections Department (with NRIC/passport)
Singaporeans whose names were removed from the registers of electors for failing to vote at a previous election may continue to apply to have their names restored to the registers, so that they can vote at future elections.

REGISTRATION FOR OVERSEAS SINGAPOREANS
Overseas Singaporeans, whose names are listed in the registers of electors and have resided in Singapore for an aggregate of at least 30 days between Feb 1, 2012, and Jan 31, 2015, may also continue to register as overseas electors to vote in future elections.

With the revision of the registers of electors, overseas Singaporeans who had registered earlier as overseas electors will need to re-register if they meet the qualifying criteria as of Feb 1, 2015, and wish to remain as overseas electors. Overseas Singaporeans are encouraged to register early via the above-mentioned channels.

Applications for registration of overseas electors will close once the Writ of Election is issued. Re-registration as an overseas elector is required with each revision of the registers.
