Recommended strategy for voters

The strategy for us common folks is to vote opposition, opposition, opposition!

Why?

Reasons are simple:

1. We want the opposition parties to get together and form the next govt and with a more than 2/3 majority so that the lives of the Singapore-born citizens (as opposed to the foreigner-converted to citizens) can get better.

2. The opposition need a two-third majority to change the constitution to makes the rules fairer for us common folks. Otherwise, the Singapore-born citizens always get the blame for contributing to a low birth rate of 1x and thus, allowing a flood of foreigners here to make up. The main irony is that the more foreigners become citizens the worst the birth ratio gets as foreigners are more likely to be adults rather than children. So as ratio gets lower, allow more foreigners to come in? Employers already salivating at the thought of replacing their 40 to 50 year workers with cheaper foreigners. As 40 to 50 years old citizens get replaced, would their sons & daughters to want to start an extended family here since they saw such bleakness. And what are the 50-year olds suppose to do between now & when they can get their cpf? Pack up and leave? Eventually, Singapore may see higher and higher %age of Singapore-born citizens leaving. Singapore may feel less than a home for us common folks and more like a hotel.

2. Us common folks like to see the constitution change so that we can get proper representation in parliament and fairer rules being applied instead of being push around by employers and in cases by foreigners working here. We need constitutional changes like 1. limit the term of ministers to 2 terms; 2. cap ministers pay at $1m (still high) so they earn $8m when they were ministers instead of $100m (assume $4m a year over more than 20 years); 3. no more GRC, just single wards (or maybe, 2-men GRC with at least 1 minority race) so that new MP don't come in via 'luck of lottery' or 'hiding under pants of a minister'; 4. more worker's rights via proper union, not one run by one of the largest jackpot operators in the country; 5. cpf be allowed to be drawn by retrenched workers at earlier age of 55; 6. remove all rules that makes owning HDB flats so different from owning private apartments so as to give citizens a sense of ownership, instead of a sense of being a tenant.

We must change constitution to make the lives of common folks better. Having a few more opposition members in parliament will not change the lives of us common folks better. It makes no difference at all.

So vote all opposition in.

As for the pap, then i think a wise strategy is to make them sit at the sideline as an opposition for 1 term and let them know why we did this? Once they woke up, they will become an even better party than today and even they do get into parliament again, then us common folk would gain a 'born' again wiser party.
