Police arrest alleged serial bicycle thieves

The police have arrested three men aged between 22 and 29 who are believed to be responsible for a series of bicycle thefts in Jurong West.

At 4.30am on Thursday morning, the police received a call from a member of the public regarding three suspicious men at the void deck of Block 849 Jurong West Street 81.

The police arrived at the scene and detained the 22-year-old for stealing a bicycle there. The two other men who had left before the police arrived were arrested in the vicinity of Gul Road on the same day.

The police have recovered a total of five bicycles from the suspects' possession. If convicted of theft with common intention, they face a fine, a jail term of up to three years, or both.
