1. the ministers start praising themselves and go on about how awesome they are in helping singapore win the rights to host the youth olympics and F1 but when a dangerous terrorist escapes from the tightest security prison in Singapore, they suddenly just vanish into thin air.

2. SBS purchases new wheelchair-accessible buses worth a lot of money but not every bus stop in Singapore is equipped with wheelchair friendly ramps.

3. the US elections gets more press coverage and air-time than Singapore politics on a whole.

4. soldiers drop dead every few months while serving their national service and its still only peacetime.

5. there has to be a national campaign to teach you how to use a fan instead of an air-conditioner but no national campaign to tell service staff to speak english to non-chinese customers.

6. 3/4 of our local programmes are modelled after other foreign programmes.

7. the government spends plenty of money to rename Marina Bay to.....Marina Bay.

8. the government heralds the Singapore flyer as a world class landmark and it is officially the biggest ferris wheel in the world......when everyone already knows there are similar ones in China and England (only slightly smaller).

9. everyone except the minister of home affairs gets the rap when a dangerous terrorist escapes.

10. Aljunied, Bedok reservoir and Punggol can suddenly be found in Hougang but disappears after the elections is over.

11. the national soccer team only starts winning competitions after getting foreign footballers into the team.

12. as of now, we still dont have a Singaporean born olympic gold medallist...no matter what the media tells you.

13. it is okay for you to have sex at 18 but you still have to wait 3 more years to watch porn.

14. gay parties are deemed dangerous and detrimental to the society but a casino isnt.

16. Out of every 5 years, almost 4 1/2 years is non stop hike from transport, utilities to GST, you cannot escape. You will only enjoy peace or even some bonus few months before GE which is our golden period and straight after it, the hike resumes.

17. World class country, 8 x world class ministers' pay, and a terrorist that has a broken leg manage to escape from their detention centre.

18. Until today, they have no clue where he is, whether he is still in the country or not. While the person in charge is still drawing high salary and talking in parliament.

I would like to recommend that Singapore build a permanent race track to host future F1 races.
I was at Marina Square and found that many motorists were inconvenienced because of road closures. The safety barricades along the roads were also very unsightly.
A permanent circuit can be used for events such as F1, go-kart racing and drifts. Singapore can also use the track to train its first F1 driver and even the world's first female F1 driver, and make it into the Guinness World Records.
Building and investing in a permanent race track will also boost Singapore's economy and motorists and businesses around Marina Square need not be inconvenienced. After all, not everyone is an F1 fan.
I was told that it took three months to set up the temporary track and it will take two months to tear down the structures after the race. With a permanent track, there is no need for such hassle and inconvenience. Ace Kindred Cheong
